Practice update - with rain looking very likely this evening, we are going to make a couple changes. There will be two options. One will be a maintenance opportunity, the other for those who don't need any bike help before our first race is to go out and ride. It's unclear what trails will be open, but take advantage of the time to ride if you can.
Maintenance night will be at my house starting at 5:30pm.

Race Weekend Schedule | Sep 6 & 7

2 Weeks Until Race Weekend! Our first race weekend is this weekend, September 6 & 7 at Lake Rebecca—Rockford, MN. Call-ups for riders having their first race are based on previous year race results. Category adjustments were included, where appropriate (Example: JV3 racer advanced to Varsity, adjustment made to first race value). New racers are placed behind racers with race history. New racers were randomized among new racers.

For complete race weekend details, please visit the MCA website at https://minnesotacycling.org/lake-rebecca-rockford-mn/

Action: Similar to last year, we will need volunteers to help with everything from pre-rides to tear downs. Assignments are now in TeamSnap, please click into the race date and choose “My Assignments.”

Volunteer Expectations for All Families

Volunteers are the cornerstone of our operations, helping to create a smooth and safe experiences for our student-athletes. With 50+ riders and over 20 coaches, it takes a collective effort from all families to support our team and maintain our high standards of organization and safety. Please take note of the following expectations we have set for each family to support our team this season. There will be other volunteer opportunities that will be communicated, but these two are the most pressing:

1) Race Weekend Volunteers Needed

As we prepare for our first race this weekend, we ask for volunteers to help set-up, teardown, pre-ride, etc. If your child will be racing, please sign up for at least one volunteer assignment on either Saturday or Sunday.

Volunteer assignments have been added to TeamSnap. You can sign up in TeamSnap > Select the Race Day > Click on “My Assignments.” This is the same process as Lot Parent assignments outlined below. Assignments include:

- Tent Set-Up
– Race photographer
– Coach warm-ups / pre-ride
– Coach mechanic
– Drive trailer to race

2) Lot Parent

Expectation: 2 practices per season per family.

An essential volunteer role is that of the Lot Parent during practices. We ask each family to commit to serving as Lot Parent for 2 practices per season. It's a wonderful opportunity to get to know the team and connect with other parents/guardians while supporting our student-athletes.

To sign up for Lot Parent:

  1. Login to TeamSnap

  2. Select “Schedule”

  3. Tap into the desired practice date

  4. Select “My Assignments”

  5. If available, select “Attendance Sign Up” then select “Unassigned”

  6. Select your name

  7. Save!

3) MCA League Volunteering

Expectation: 4 volunteer hours per season per family with a student racing. This is the second year that the WBL MTB team will be actively volunteering for the league, but this is a standard for other teams in the league.

Deadline: You can sign up in advance or on the day of each race. Note, if the volunteer assignments are not yet posted, please check back!

Call for local business sponsors!

We’re looking for local business team sponsors for the 2025 season. Sponsorships help cover important team needs, like meals on race weekends, banners, signage and other support that keeps our riders going strong.

As a thank-you, sponsors will have their logo displayed on our team trailer and receive other benefits that highlight their support of our athletes.

If you know of a business that might be interested, please share this Sponsor Proposal with them. Every connection helps us build a stronger team experience for our riders!
