  • Co-ed students who attend the White Bear Lake school district public schools in grades 7-12 can all be part of the team!

  • The season starts with practices in early July. Races begin in early September and conclude with the state championship in mid-October.

  • Fall 2025 Season Registration Is Open. The WBL MTB team is open to all 7th-12th grade students. Registration is a 2-step process: you’ll need to register with both the Minnesota Cycling Association and White Bear Lake Schools.

    School Registration: Complete your registration with the White Bear Lake School District through EduTrakConnect. Simply navigate to Sports & Activities and select Mountain Biking to register with the district: lobby.wordwareinc.com

    League Registration: After completing school registration, you’ll receive a follow-up email with instructions on how to register with the league and for races (if you choose to participate).

  • We practice at local trails twice a week: Tuesdays and Thursdays, with some optional weekend practices. Practices usually last 2 hours and start at 6:00 PM at the beginning of the season. As the season progresses and daylight shortens, practices will start earlier.

    Team members are grouped by skill level and experience. Coaches work with each group to improve bike handling, endurance, and trail riding skills. Common practice locations include Sunfish Park, Carver Lake Park Reserve, and White Tail Ridge, with a few additional locations for variety.

  • Races are optional for all team members. For those who sign up to race, we will race four times a year, plus a state championship. Athletes race in different age groups and skill levels. Races are held over the weekend, with middle school races on Saturdays and high school races on Sundays. Races take place at various locations around the state.   • You’ll need a trail-worthy mountain bike, a helmet, a water bottle, athletic shoes, a team jersey, black shorts, and an extra bike tube. Ask our coaches if you need more details.
